So we’ve had an eventful few months since my last log blog. Through a happy coincidence we’ve acquired a neighbouring plot of woodland to our original 4.75acres which now means we have a total of 12 acres of ancient natural woodland. This supports our planned expansion of a range of woodland products and conservation activity….watch this space.
Its been a busy time of selling Swedish Logs which are excellent for camping trips to provide a safe and sustainable heat-source without having to cart loads of campfire equipment. I’ve recently sold to the local Scout group and other local customers who have kindly made me feel hungry by sending me pictures of frying sausages and even a film of a sizzling steak (to really rub it in!). The feedback on the Swedish Logs has been great.
This is our first summer in the woods and its been interesting seeing the woodland floor come to life with wild flowers, butterflies and other insects. The deer and birds of prey are a welcome sight and at sunset the place comes to life with the 14 species of bats which are known to live in our woodland. I also found a pixie one day recently…!
Logging off for now…..
